Lancaster: Armstrong Cork, 1918. Item #013997
Elaborate trade catalog for Armstong's linoleum products. Parsons, an early promoter of the teaching of design and interior decoration, and the namesake of the Parson School, contributes an essay on contemporary interior design--unsentimental, sanitary, colorful, harmonious, etc.--in modern homes. The good people at Armstrong have elaborated on this, showing how their linoleum products can be used to do all of these things. A suite of 8 illustrations of typical rooms in rather grand houses are captioned with Parsons' suggestions for the appropriate Armstong linoleum design. A second suite of 3 drawings shows a smaller, more realistic linoleum-laid house. First edition. 28 cm; 40 pp.; fine in printed wrappers. Illustrations hors texte; most with water stains to top corner. Book and plates housed in paper portfolio showing wear.
