First edition, one of 170 copies on Holland paper. 8vo; thirty-eight pp.; illustrated with three folding maps. A fine copy in original gilt-stamped blue cloth. Controversy surrounds the authenticity of copies of the Bradford Map allegedly printed from the original engraved copper plate. Loring, an owner of one of the two known copies, analyzes the various copies and compares them to the original. With a chronological list of the copies of the Bradford Map which have been published since 1834.
