The text is a copy of a letter from Moses to Mayor LaGuardia in which he submits "...a program to aid national defense by filling vital gaps in the present system of New York metropolitan vehicular arteries." He then goes on to take credit for inventing the Autobahn before identifying the gaps to be filled: the Pelham-Portchester Express Highway, the Brooklyn-Queens Connecting Highway, the Harlem River Drive, and of course, the Elevated Highway Across Lower Manhattan. With 35 pp. of illustrations from photographs, drawings, plans, and maps, some folding. Scarce. First edition. 4to; 16 pp. [printed recto only]; illustrated from photographs, plans, and maps, most folding. Minimal wear to top of spine; else a very good copy or better in stapled, cloth tape-backed printed wrappers.
